I finally got some holiday time to spend on my latest creation: a flowing stream and bridge.
And I added a little surprise for the kids.  See more on the Stream and Bridge page.

Castle Tower

I had some spare used truck tyres and came up with this idea to create a play castle tower.

I've started to experiment with the use of old tyres in playground equipment.

After seeing a tyre climb at a local primary school I constructed my own version ...

I came by some wooden bed slats and a length of dowel.  Then I thought they could be used to make a play rug tent.

Setting Sail

The outdoor play area is having a spring clean.  Time for a new sail on the boat.  After using an old fitted sheet and my wife's sewing machine I was pleased with the result.

See the Boat project for how to make your own backyard play boat.

Our First Egg

Our first egg! And so begins our kids' daily egg hunt.  Keeping chickens is a great way to teach children about the life cycle of animals and another step in explaining, or in this case demonstrating, where food comes from.

See the Chicken Enclosure project for how to get started with your own backyard chickens.

Spring Brings Walls

With spring comes the gradual growth of the tree house walls (leaves). Creation grows to give the kids a secret hideaway.
