Blackboard

  • Blackboard - prepainted board, or
  • Marine board and blackboard paint
  • Treated pine timber for the frame
  • Nylon mushroom head nail wall anchors
  • "Lickety split" green paint

Procedure
  1. Use a mitre block to cut the frame timber to give 45 deg ends.
  2. Join frame timber with nails or screws, and PVA glue.
  3. Nail or screw board to the frame from behind the board.  The nails or screws will need to be shorter than the width of the frame.
  4. Drill four mounting holes through the frame and board.
  5. Mark the mounting holes onto the brick through the frame using a narrow pencil.
  6. Drill the wall holes into the bricks using a masonry drill bit.
  7. Insert the nylon mushroom head nail wall anchors through the frame and into the wall.
  8. Hammer in the nails.
