Bus Stop



Materials
  • Treated pine decking
  • Orange paint
  • Printed and laminated sign
  • Bed-head (junk collection)
  • Strong 90 deg metal brackets
  • Bolts 
  • Bag of rapid set concrete (x3)
Procedure
** Warning - as this seat is to take weight unless you are confident that you can construct a sturdy seat don't attempt to construct one.  Instead, consider purchasing a garden bench.

Legs
  1. Dig two holes for the bed-head
  2. Insert bed-head - check for level
  3. Pour in rapid set concrete mix
  4. Add water
Seat and Back
  1. Cut boards to length
  2. Bolt onto the metal brackets, one set of bolts going through the bed-head
Bus Stop Pole
  1. Cut wood to length
  2. Paint orange
  3. Dig hole
  4. Pour in rapid set concrete
  5. Add water
Sign
  1. Print the sign (provided below) to size (laser printing will last longer in the sun)
  2. Laminate the sign (laminated printout also used in the Cubby House and PC Play Table and Fascinator Wall projects)
  3. Attach to the pole with glue, or paint the back with the orange paint at apply sign to the pole while the paint is still wet. 
Leave 2 mm of laminate around the edge to keep the sign waterproof

Play Time
I ride around on my bike with the bike trailer on the back.  The kids have to hail me and wait safely to enter and exit the "bus".
